Hello community! đź‘‹
When you create your datasets in Huwise, it’s not the technical part that matters most — it’s the context.
Here are 5 best practices to boost the consumption of your assets by your end users.
Â
Use “user-friendly” terms for your audience
When creating a dataset, make sure every piece of information is explicit for your users. If you have to explain a column name, it’s probably poorly named.
Â
Fill in metadata to make search easier
For your asset to be found, it needs to be well indexed (internal SEO). Always fill in the title, description, keywords, and theme.
Think big! Translate this metadata into multiple languages so that international users can leverage your work.
Â
Create a custom view to provide an example of how to visualize the data
Nothing is more compelling than a concrete example. Set up a custom view that shows how to visualize and interpret the data.
Â
Configure filters to make exploration easier
Set up intuitive filters to enable self-serve exploration.
Â
Highlight the most relevant consumption elements to drive action
Encourage users to take action by showcasing the most relevant elements for consuming data as soon as they open the asset (e.g., explore the data if you want more views over the next quarter).
