Hello Community,
We’ve recently received some great questions regarding the map view.
This feature has evolved significantly in the new experience, and we want to share how the platform is shifting and what you can expect moving forward.
Rather than having a single, one-size-fits-all map, the new experience categorizes maps based on how you intend to use them. Here is how to navigate map features today:
-
Maps as Standalone Visualizations (Visualization Assets): If you view your map as a true, standalone asset, you can now transform it into a dedicated visualization asset using our code editor page. This gives you much deeper control over how the spatial data is presented.
-
Maps for Context (Custom Views): If you see the map as a tool to help users quickly understand a specific dataset, it lives as a custom view within that dataset.
-
Maps for Exploration: If you feel there is currently a gap in how you geographically visualize elements directly within a dataset, you can still access the map in the Explore tab.
