Date format dd/mm/yyyy - as a configuration item

I have seen the post 

 and understand there is a processor we can use, however I would like to suggest we have an option to configure the platform’s default date format as dd/mm/yyyy for all our datasets -- understanding the system default would be the ISO 8601 date format (YYYY-MM-DD).
