Hello,

When browsing a dataset, I would like to modify / update the map based on Explore by query settings.

Example

I’ve filtered to any record greater than 5MW, but I’d like to see that change reflected in the map tab.

Thanks!

Hi Yiu-Shing, thanks for raising this!

Today, this isn't possible: filtering through "Explore by query" doesn't carry over to the map view. This actually used to work in the previous Explorer experience, but the capability hasn't made it into the new one yet.

Some context on where things stand: the new Explorer is currently in beta and, for now, only covers the graphical views — line, column, aggregate table and pie chart. The records table and the map are landing very soon, potentially as early as next week, which will take this part out of beta.

Beyond that, as part of the same rebuild we're exploring an "advanced query mode" — building on some ideas from the query builder — that would let a single query act consistently across every view of the tool, including the map. That's the piece that would properly bring this capability back. It's not scheduled yet, but it's a natural next step once the map ships.

We'll keep this thread posted as things move.
